Thank you for your response.
I looked at what you said and nothing is really clear in the logs as to why its failing, i actually think we might be missing a PTF file on that box.
I have another box that i have managed to install Curl on with no issues.
As we are going to be moving to cloud soon, i think i will write a script to call curl from the other box.

If you have an open source support contract for curl in place, you can contact IBM support directly for assistance.
If that's not the case, some useful data may be gathered by:
- Looking for 4700 0012 VLOGs at the time of crash
- Running with '-vvv' to get a sense of where it crashed
You can also try reinstalling curl to see if that helps at all (unlikely)

I wonder if someone can help me i am running IBM I 7.2 and have installed Curl command but when i run /QOpenSys/pkgs/bin/curl www.google.co.uk i get the following error.
Illegal instruction - core dumped
I have checked all dependencies but just cant work it out, we have a 7.3 box and that works fine.
Any help would be great.
