  • 1.  Creating a folder with Danish Characters disconnects LTFS Drive on Windows

    Posted 3 days ago

I have no idea where to report this bug, and after a kafkask experience i am here, so sorry if this is of topic.

    Describe the bug

Create a folder with special characters like danish letters æøå causes the drive to "disapear"

    To Reproduce
    Steps to reproduce the behavior:
Create a folder with æøå , drive disappears.
Reboot, Media is "bad" run a check drive, folder is there, access it from Desktop, Drive disappears again.

    Expected behavior
That the folder was created and everything worked like older versions of LTFS

Desktop (please complete the following information):
    Windows 10, 11 and Windows Server 2022

    Additional context
Tested on Windows 10, Windows 11 and Windows Server 2022
Tested with 3 different LTO Drives from IBM , LTO 6-7-8
Tested with 3 different SAS Adapters

Hunted this for weeks, didn't expect it to be such a .. shall we say, surprising vintage bug.

After installing an old windows version and doing some more testing i can confirm that the issue is NOT in IBM_LTFS_SDE_2.4.5.1.10503_x64
