A few weeks ago SPSS started prompting me to run an update. After updating, I lost the ability to copy and paste data from the output screen into excel, word, etc. Export isn't working either, in fact, i can't find that option anymore. I can't uninstall and reinstall because it's cloud based. I tried signing out and back in, that didn't work. I tried rerunning the exe file. That didn't work either. How can i restore this critical functionality? I'm using Build 1.0.0.1406.

I'm guessing you are using IBM SPSS Statistics Subscription. That's the only product we have that would prompt you for an update. Only the licensing for that product is cloud based. So you certainly can do an uninstall. Download the latest release from https://myibm.ibm.com/dashboard/ and then install it.

Hi David, thanks so much for the quick response! Yes, it is the subscription. Could you advise how we uninstall the program? IT has to do it for me. IBM SPSS wasn't listed on the apps/features we could uninstall. We clicked the 'uninstall' option from the start menu (it did nothing) and we tried downloading the file from the page you provided and running the exe file, but that didn't do anything either. I've run into a similar issue with using SPSS Statistics Subscription (Build 1.0.0.1406, 64-bit edition, Classic edition). I was able to export to Excel successfully before this latest update. I have the option to Export from the Output view, but the resulting Excel files have a size of 6K and are entirely empty when opened.

My workaround has been to select the tables I want from the Output view, copy them, and paste them into an Excel sheet. It's not an ideal solution. I'd much rather be able to export as I could prior to the latest update.

I've submitted a summary through Help > Report an Issue.

Is this a known-issue that uninstalling and reinstalling would fix? Or would I just be spinning my wheels and back in the same spot once I've taken the time to reinstall?

I ended up submitting a case with IBM and worked with someone from their support team. I did not have an option to uninstall (the program was missing completely from my software list). We ended up deleting some of the folders on my c:drive (with her guidance on which ones!) and then reinstalling. Now i have full functionality again!
