    We have a requirement to convert a field "PIC S9(17) COMP-3.". I was told that A COMP-3 field is a Packed Decimal representation of a numeric piece of data.
    If the number is packed, the high order nibbles (four bits) from each byte will be stripped, and append four bits to represent the sign.
    So a signed COMP-3 (PIC S9(05) COMP-3) representation of the Number 1234 would be x’01234C’. The 'C' is the sign, in this case positive.
    WTX should transform this field to a number to send that to the outside world. Any ideas? Is there any function in wtx which performs this?
