Re: Content Store Internal Report Name changed to RES_1:44bf4828154902aa1e25d20b37eaff96#New Account List

We run some tsql against the content store to inventory the Cognos Objects. We do this as a before-release and after-release to verify the objects that have changed. In our cognos 11.1.7 suddenly we have 8 reports that are used as widgets in a workspace that have been given new names in the CMOBJNAMES  table NAMES column of the content store.

    before-release name: Branch Change Analysis
    after-release name: RES_1:44bf4828154902aa1e25d20b37eaff96#New Account List

the report seems to work well as does the widget and workspace. so nothing is broken. just odd after 8 years, suddenly 8 reports have a new name. all the new names have the same format - RES_1:someRandomValue#someVariationoftheReportName

Any thoughts on what caused this or what RES_1 format of content store CMOBJNAMES, NAME means??

One thing i noticed is that the report definition for these RES_1 report names had <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?> preceding the typical <report xmlns= . No idea how the xml version element got there or if this is the cause of the weird report name. But we found an older package where the report names were as expected (did not have the xml version element). All is good now.
