  • 1.  Containerized Identity Manager

    It is exciting to see the containerized version of Identity Manager released with PostgreSQL support, thought it might be a great chance to finally have our EOL'ed ISIM V6 upgraded. Soon I realized it is reserved for customers with 'IBM Security Verify Governance Enterprise' license, while the company I work for only has the Lifecycle license.

    I would like to understand more about the reason behind this. Is it an action which is to deliberately enlarge the value differences between Enterprise and Lifecycle licenses? or just a consideration to have customers to adapt it gradually starting with Enterprise customers because this it is something new？In other words, can I expect it to be available to Lifecycle customers in the next or future releases?

    I have the same question as Frank asked -- Gentlemen happen to have idea whether Containerized Identity Manager version will be delivered to ISVG IM Lifecycle licensed clients, similarly as it is for ISVG Enterprise licensed clients?  Or it is only limited to Enterprise license?

    I am not to answer this officially -that is the responsibility of our Product Management.

    It is my understanding that the reason for requiring Enterprise License for the container version is that it supports newer Governance functionality (currently additional new Recertification Campaigns) and that more will be added. I believe the goal is to have a similar Governance functionality as the target that what IGI has currently as part of merging the functionality to the IM platform in steps.

    But as said - I am not speaking officially on this - if you want a deper insight please contact your IBM representative as roadmaps are under NDA.
