    i have installed exx DCOM v711 on a linux system which I use to comunicate from my client to an OPC Server on a windows 2000 machine. I can connect to the OPC server and tranfer data, my problem is that when I shutdown my client the connection to windows 2000 machine remains for about 10 minutes. Is there any configuration that I can do to shorten this timeout?

    Hi,

    after a client / server communication has ended, the TCP/IP ports appear as TIME_WAIT for a certain time. This is a TCP/IP behaviour and could probably changed as a TCP/IP parameter. But it has nothing to do with DCOM itself and can also not be configured in DCOM.
