Hello,

First time using z/OSMF to install anything.  I am using a zOS Customized Offering Delivery running z/OS 2.5 to install a z/OS 3.1 system. 

 I am at the 'Deployments > Deployments Checklist > Configure Deployment task and have a question about the 'Target Data Set Names'.  Should those names be the final name such as 'SYS1.PARMLIB' or should they have what used to be called the SSA in-front of the name for example 'OS313422.SYS1.PARMLIB'? 

I'm not sure where/when the final dataset name is finally set.  I ran the deployment jobs once already and had to reinstall because my Workflow wouldn't work due to datasets not found,  because I thought I knew better than the deployment/workflow steps.  I was told at Share to trust z/OSMF deployment/workflows.  Just wanting to make sure I start with a good foundation.

Larry, the Target Data Set Names should be your final desired names, like SYS1.LINKLIB, etc.  If you selected the option to create a new master catalog, then z/OSMF will create a system specific alias (SSA), although in z/OSMF we call it a temporary catalog alias.  You can specify the temporary catalog alias value on the Catalogs page/step in the configuration wizard.  If you chose the option to use your existing catalogs, then z/OSMF will add a unique suffix (*.#) to the data set names when creating them, and rename them to your desired names in a subsequent job.  Let me know if you have further questions.

Many thanks for the response, it got me moving along.  Saved me a lot of time editing IZUD06RN to rename which caused the workflow to fail my first time through.
