Yes, it does affect the performance if there are too many rules and validations in your type tree. But if your data is not too large then you might not feel the difference.

If you are running your map in the batch mode, you may ignore to remove these rules and validations. But even if the milli-second could make a difference then you may want to remove un-necessary rules.
