  • 1.  Compatibility inquiry – Informix Client SDK on Windows Server 2025

    We are planning to deploy IBM Informix Client SDK on a Microsoft Windows Server 2025 (x64) environment, and would like to confirm the following:

    1. Is the current latest officially released version of Informix Client SDK 4.50.xC12 or 15.0.0.1?

    2. Has this version been officially tested and certified for compatibility with Windows Server 2025 (x64)?

    3. If not yet supported, could you please advise in which upcoming release or fix pack the Windows Server 2025 support will be included?

    Deployment context:

    • Operating System: Windows Server 2025 Standard (x64)

    • Purpose: Informix ODBC / .NET Provider client connection to Informix 14.10 or 15.0 server

    Hi,

    For IBM Informix we have

    The latest Cient SDK is 15.0.0.2  https://www.ibm.com/docs/en/informix-servers/15.0.0?topic=notes-esqlc-version-15002-linux-intel-64bit built 18 Aug 2025.

    The latest Client SDK release for windows is 4.50.FC12 https://www.ibm.com/docs/en/informix-servers/14.10.0?topic=notes-esqlc-version-450fc12-windows-x64 built 19 Jun 2025.

    System requirements for Windows are at https://www.ibm.com/support/pages/informix-client-software-development-kit-client-sdk-and-informix-connect-system-requirements#windows

    Version 15 of the Client SDK for Windows is still listed as "(IN PLAN)" and the latest supported Windows Version is Windows 2022.

    Perhaps someone from IBM can provide when Version 15 Client SDK will be available for Windows and when Windows 2025 will be supported?

    Also Informix 15.0.0.2 IS available for Windows 64 https://www.ibm.com/docs/en/informix-servers/15.0.0?topic=notes-windows-x64 , I am not sure if you download the package if it would include the Client SDK.

    Also going to https://www.ibm.com/products/informix then "Try the Developer Edition" I can download "IBM Informix Client-SDK 15.0.0.2 Windows 64 bit English
    15.0.0.2" however the doc folder is empty!!

    I can also download "IBM Informix Server Developer Edition 15.0.0.2 Windows 64 bit English"  which contains machine notes dated "18 Aug 2025" yet https://www.ibm.com/support/pages/node/320749#win only mentions "15.0.0.1".

    For HCL Informix we have

    Here https://esd.actian.com/product/HCL_Informix/15.0/all/Informix_HQ_FKA_Explore you can choose Platform Windows and download "HCL Informix Server Evaluation 15.0.0.2 Windows 64 bit English" 

    For this the doc folder IS populated and mentioned "HCL Informix Database Server 15.0.0.2.1 PRODUCT RELEASE ON Windows x64 DATE: 19 Aug 2025".

    Also from there I can download "HCL Informix Client-SDK 15.0.0.2 Windows 64 bit English" which again has am empty doc folder!

    HCL/IBM can you update the docs and populate the missing folders?
