  • 1.  Compact Slicer as a "Picker"

    Posted 11/17/23 08:06 AM

    Greetings!

I own a Compact Slicer that offers various services, but I've noticed that my users frequently overlook the need to press "ctrl" to select multiple services from the list. I'm curious if it's feasible to convert this into a "Picker." The challenge is that the standard picker is designed for "Column Picker," and I'm unable to retrieve items from the column. Is there a more efficient way to achieve this transformation without having to manually create each item?

Hi Henrique - I really don't see a good way of converting slicer selections into picker format. Besides user training, you could offer up Global Slicers to save the service(s) the user selects. You can find more information about Global Slicers below.

    Hi Henrique,

as far as I know there's no way to have single column values show up in a picker. A very rough solution: Why not simpy add an HTML message above/below the picker that tells "Use CTRL+Click for Multi Selection"?
This is something I have been doing for Slicers that often require you to select multiple ones. As this is similar to how MS Office works hardly anyone ever complained.

Also if you have some kind of grouping, you can add another filter with that one. After the service group (or similar) is selected the service slicer will automatically limit the selections.
