Having some problems getting 6.7.1 up and running. I installed the tools as follows...

6.7 Design
6.7 Integration Broker
6.7.1 Service Patch
3.1 for 6.7 HCIP
7.0 Commerce Manager
Patches 15898 & 17340

I setup the ES Admin and made sure mrc + mrn files were correct. Tweaked the mercator.ini file so related settings were similar to what we use in 6.5.2

I then Converted the Cmgr6.1 DB to Cmgr7.0, Opened Cmgr, connected to the DB and confirmed the paths and Post Offices were correct. Finally, I deployed the x12*.mtt via the wizard.

I open Msg_Mgr with 6.7.1 Int Broker verified paths and 'Deployed' the Msg_Mgr.msl.

When I started the services and systems I watched several maps fail and noted a number maps + trees vanished. (when I tried redeploying the system file I received errors denoting the missing items - sure enough they were gone)

I restored everything and confirmed status changes and redelpoyed. This time I watched about 5-6 maps get purged as the system ran.

At this time I'm pointing to the Access DB but once I've successfully deployed msg_mgr I'll be building the DB in Oracle.

It sounds to me that the event server is not using the proper mrn file.

Open the Event Server Administration tool and check resource resolution. It should be pointing to a mrc file of your choice. That mrc file should point to the mmgr.mrn file deployed into the cmgr\mmgr directory. Make sure that both LocalServer and Global points to it.

We're experiencing a similiar situation on our UNIX server. Runs perfectly in D, runs perfectly in X, but in E it appears to be using varioius *.mmc's as input files and bombs out. Then it turns the offending mmc into a *mmss.rej file. Very strange. I think the issue is in the envsetup scripts and shared libraries. Do you have another server that you can deploy this to to test it out?

You didn't mention what database vendor is in use, but if it is Oracle, then
the ODBC Driver version must be 8.01.75.00. These are free from oracle.com

The root cause of this issue is that starting with CM 7.0 we added "blob" fields in the database, and older ODBC drivers don't support these data types.

If you are using Oracle 9i; I'd suggest version 9 ODBC drivers if you are still getting that "unspecified error".
More information on Oracle ODBC Driver issues can be found in Oracle's Metalink, article 66403.1 titled "Supported ODBC Configurations". There is a matrix there spelling out the proper ODBC driver versions by Oracle Database version.

Oracle had issues with blobs in older ODBC drivers prior to 8.01.75. By the way, to check the ODBC Driver version number use the ODBC Datasource Administrator found in windows.

Essentially, I have this running on my work station while testing for upgrade. I also have Oracle 9i DB with client on the same machine. I had an issue with the tnsnames file as it related to my desktop. Fixed the reference and I've made every connection since.

I have another potential issue. I'll start a new thread.
