If so, it will be easier to create maps through commands in the CM controlled
environment. Since we have a tightly coupled CM controlled environment, we do
not want to create the executable map and give it to CM for deployment.
We would like to create .mms and .mtt files and give it to CM.
If there are any commands that can create .mmc then CM can run these commands
to create .mmc files. This way, CM does not need to know DTX, but can still
run the commands to create the executable.

You can call me at 704-336-4512, if you have better approach too.
Or else please send me the email at khakurel@hotmail.com.

Check out the Utility Commands Reference Guide for your version. There are command line executables that let you create *.mmc's from *.mms and *.mtt files.

The command I am thinking of is mcompile.

    Resistance is NOT futile.

I assume you don't mean create maps but compile them. Even in 8.0 (waiting on 8.1 and haven't worked with 8.0 extendsively) I don't think you can dynamically create a map.

I believe you need map designer to create the maps. Also, if CM is Commerce Manager you probably deployed your Partner Manager maps via Msg_Mgr.msd. If you add your maps to the msd file you can compile and deploy the map once. From there your maps can be triggered from with an even, from another map or from a command line.

Again, assuming you mean compile, not sure I understand the issue. Are you trying to shortcut the deployment of maps? You still need to deply the mms file in production for CM to build the mmc. And once its deployed and executed are you going to delete it? or recompile it? Why would you want to redeploy it all the time?
