Sorry about that section of the document not being as clear as it could be. I will log a bug with documentation.
The snippets that are shown in the dimension tables, are of a different area in the table then what is shown in the report result. The concept however is not too far off. I've attached a document that aligns the data in the various tables more clearly with that in the report. Also attached is a spreadsheet with the data that was used in the document. When you upload that file and create a Data Module for it then you should be able to see the different patterns of SQL that are generated depending on the use of column dependency options.

Wonder am I misunderstanding something in Scenario 3 as the example relationships and report output don't seem to match up. Looks as if the snippet of table on the left, Employee Training dim, is showing a different set of data.
Would appreciate clarification as I am struggling with this exact scenario.
