    Hi All,

    I am currently trying to help someone get Cognos for Microsoft Office working over their 11.1.7 FP1 environment. The environment is Single Signon.

    When we try to bring reports into the Excel Addin sometimes it prompts for user and password sometimes it doesn't. If you click cancel it still works.

    There is a KB Article about this that refers to making the Icon folder in IIS Anonymous Access. The images folder already is but does anyone know which of the 30+ Icon folders I need to make anonymous access. As this is a production environment I clearly don't want to make holes it their web server security.

    UPDATE: I asked IBM Support and they said the icons folder should reside under webcontent\bi but my installation doesn't have that folder.

    Hi Andrew, 

    Not sure if this would help, but check the Options in IBM tab of Excel once you connect to the Cognos environment. There is an Authentication section for forms authentication; toggle and see if that helps. Also, though I am unable to recall, unchecking 'Show Information Cards' option helped resolve some issues for us in the past.

    Hi Kiran,

    Thank you for the pointers, it seems that the 'Show Information Cards' unchecked is the solution to this. I am currently doing some exhaustive testing on this but many thanks for your help here.
