Hi everyone,
I've been wrestling with this odd behavior in Cognos Analytics on Cloud. I've got a dashboard that's set up to auto-refresh right after our data warehouse syncs, but lately it seems like that dashboard just… hangs. It looks like everything ran, but the visuals don't appear until I manually refresh or re-open the report.
Here's the timeline of what I've observed:
- Dashboard renders fine during off-hours manual runs.
- Data warehouse sync completes, and Cognos kicks off the scheduled dashboard refresh.
- The refresh job shows as "successful," but dashboards stay static.
- If I go in and hit "Run Now" or reopen that dashboard, all visuals render immediately.
- This only started happening after a more recent Cloud releas I suspect something changed in how rendering occurs post-schedule.
Before posting, I checked:
- That the schedule job is correctly set to refresh the appropriate dashboard.
- The "last run" timestamp matches the sync time.
- No caching issues appear in space-level settings (cache cleared, expired, etc.).
- I tried republishing a fresh version of the dashboard that helps temporarily, but the behavior comes back after the next scheduled run.
- Has anyone seen something like this on Cognos Cloud where scheduled refreshes technically succeed but don't actually render visuals until manual intervention? Is there a known workaround or perhaps a setting I'm missing like caching rules, session timeouts, or even a recommended rendering "delay" before dashboard refresh kicks in?
Would love to hear how folks are getting around this or if you've flagged this with support and received any guidance. Thanks so much in advance! ❤️
