    Yes we need Terracotta for storing shared data required for clustering.

    Additionally make sure you review the “webMethods_and_Terracotta_Compatibility_Matrix” before you setup IS clustering using Terracotta server.

    This should explain how to setup clusters for the different products.

    There is something called “stateless cluster” and “stateful cluster”. Stateless IS clustered doesn’t need Terracotta. Stateful IS cluster needs TC. You need to understand what does ‘state’ mean. Refer clustering guide as others pointed.
