I am using a TSM 7 Server on AIX.
The server has poor performance (server was planed to replace this year, but
i have to wait for next, because of the lack of budget and manpower)
The DB2 disks are on a high busy level and i like to put them on SSDs.
I have tested a Infortrend DS1000 Series, but it will not work with AIX (native multipathing).
EMC + HP 3PAR will work (on other power servers, so i know this works) but they are expensive.
I need the possibility to but SSDs in a disk-cage and put it (Brocade SAN is installed) via Fibre Channel
to the AIX-server.
I prefer the use of SSDs in comparison to memory upgrade or more procs, because i can use the SSDs
also on the new server.
I dont need special features (snapshots, remote copy, multi-tiering, ...), only raid6 with cheap SSDs.
Do you know a possibility to manage this with a lower price then EMC and 3PAR?
Thanks + regards,
Fritz
