I have a simple Line Chart that I am trying to change the line style for, I'm trying to change to a dashed line and change the thickness.  Where is the Series Line Style control hidden in v11.1.7?

To my quick scan, you can only modify the thickness of the lines, when using the older Charts variant.
The newer the viz engine, the fewer options you get to work with....

@Layne Leach​ if you want to try out the "Charts" as @Maarten den Dunnen suggested, you ust have to click on the upper right drop-down menu when you insert a new viz and select "Charts":

The old Cognos 10 Chart Engine is imho the most powerfull and flexible viz engine in Cognos Analytics.

Like @Robert Dostal maintained. You first have to select the older Viz charts.
This can be done when selecting a Viz go to the right corner of the Viz select menu and select Charts.
After selecting a correct line Chart you have to old trusty Line options back.

Its not ideaal to my inderstanding. why upgrade to 11.1 / 11.2 and still use the old 10 charts but he, that another story.
On the screenshot, more details hope this solves your problem.
