Hi all! 

For some time now, i wanted to change the way you can search in sliders. Whenever i open a report, and check the report in (i'm in R12, upgraded from R11) you can choose the search option for sliders. Currently, it is set on: "starts with..". I want to change that to: "Contains". To make that change, i go to the compact slicer tab and go to the: "Search" area. Normally, i would be able to change the option there but for me it's greyed out. Please find attached a screenshot of what i just described, as a picture is saying more than a thousand words.

Does somebody have experience on this? Is there a way to change the option for this compact slicer?

Try clicking on the slicer itself(red arrow) and opening the options rather than the selection box surrounding it(blue arrow)

Then go to the compact slicer tab in the ribbon and change the selection for search. (This is so if you add multiple compact slicers you can configure each separately).

Thank you Travis, this seems to be working now! No wonder it took me some time to figure this out.

Learned something new myself in problem solving. I checked one of my compact slicers and I see the same issue. However, when I click on one of those slicers to make a selection, the options that were previously greyed out become available. Try that. See if it works.

Thanks for posting this question.  I had been having the same issue and now I can fix some of my slicers that were not working.
