Case Instance Migration from BAW On-prem to CP4BA

  • 1.  Case Instance Migration from BAW On-prem to CP4BA

    Greetings,

We are preparing to move from current IBM BAW 23.0.2 On-prem setup to CP4BA 24.0.1. Currently BAW is configured with MSSQL as the database.

BAW solution comprises of both Case as well as Process Instances. Through the below links we understand that current env should be on BAW 24.0.1 and using db2 as the database to utilize migration capability offered by IBM

    https://www.ibm.com/docs/en/baw/24.0.x?topic=automation-moving-case-instances

    https://www.ibm.com/docs/en/baw/24.0.x?topic=automation-moving-inflight-process-instances

Another alternate for inflight process instances is PFS, which we are evaluating parallelly. Additionally, we don't have much inflight process instances so we might ask users to close them before moving to CP4BA so Case Instances is kind of more priority for us.

So I would like to know more about migration of Case Instances. Since we would be pointing CP4BA to use same DOS and TOS which were used by BAW on-prem, is it so that Cases won't work by default unless migration is not done ? What data this case instance migration setup is going to move to CP4BA from BAW on-prem ?

    Thanks
