    Thanks!

    Hi mimi,

In addition to your selections (1,6) you need to select option 5. You are not saying to install WebSphere 8.5.5

      Try again.

Hope this helps tell us if you need more support.

    regards

Okay, so I tried doing that - installing WebSphere.  (I thought I had to install the installer first, for some reason. )

    It gave me this:

ERROR: The package IBM WebSphere Application Server Trial 8.5.5.0 (8.5.5000.20130514_1044) does not support being installed in console mode.

    Do you have any suggestions?

I discovered this a while ago also. It seems the console mode of Installation Manager is barely able to install anything and is pretty useless. Don`t really understand why this has been done as it installed everything fine in 8.0.

I am getting the same error message, so we can not install the WebSphere Application Server ND Trial 8.5 in console mode?

ERROR: The package IBM WebSphere Application Server Network Deployment Trial 8.5.5.0 (8.5.5000.20130514_1044) does not support being installed in console mode.

Yes.What you said was right. We can't install Application server directly.
If you want to install WAS8.5 in console mode we should install IIM first.
We have to install IBM installation manager first then with using of IIM we can able to install WAS 8.5 software.

Once we done with IIM installation,we have to just give the unzip file location then it will take automatically all requried files to install the software.

Let me know if any concerns..
