Datastage PX (short for parallel extender) is more suited to this task.  Yes, Datastage PX can call WTX/ITX for complex transformations, but for simple read and write from two DBs, it should not need this functionality.

Again, I iterate that WTX/ITX is not the best tool for this kind of bulk (one-shot) loading of data, but it can be used.  I recommend Burst mode is used.  Other than that, I have no specific recommendations.
