  • 1.  Can we use database for different versioned IS

    Posted 07/12/24 01:08 AM

    Dear All,
I have a scenario where my existing server A is using a database “D” and can we use the same database in new server “B” and if yes, how should I start MWS with existing DB details.

should i run DB configurator with anything ?

What do you mean with database?

You can use the same DB server instance with different users/schemas to run it with different applications. Those can also be different versions of webMethods.

But you MUST NOT use the same user/schema.

Given this question is a bit unspecific, I would recommend to validate your approach with IBM support.

My query is like if we can use same schema and user with same sql url.

and what are the consequences if we use same?

That does not work and is not supported as far as I know. Please verify with support.

    Hi,

same schema should only be used when running the instances as a clustered environment.

Independent instances should be using their own separate sets of user/schema.
