  • 1.  Can I convert a report to a dataset to be used in a dashboard

    ​Hi, I have a rather complex report that I have developed using Oracle EBS tables - there are several joins in the report. Ideally, I would like to generate a dataset as output from this report to then be used in a dash. Is this possible or do I have to replicate the relationships in a data module? I can obviously export the report as a csv and then re-import it as an uploaded file but this requires manual intervention. I want to automate this as much as I can. Any help would be appreciated. Many thanks, Paul

    Hi Paul

    Some great news for you in 11.1.7 which was released in the end of July - here you have a full data set editor available, which is just a subset of reporting... so you can use your existing reports here - just copy the report spec to notepad, go into the data editor and paste it in here... then you will have access to all the data source and most important, all of the queries from your report with all the joins and filters etc...

    I have passed this info on to our IT team. We are on version 11.0.13 at the moment. I would dearly like this option as it will shortcut the development process.
