Can I compress the data by upgrading the shema?

• 1. Can I compress the data by upgrading the shema?

HI,

I loaded the data into the Database, and it is not compressed. Now I tried to compress the data with compression: change smart compress to always. But it seems that nothing happens.

What’s the easy way I can do that? Thanks a lot!

Frank

Hello Frank,

on the following page in the documentation (near the bottom):

.../Tamino 4.1.4.1/Documentation/tsl/modschema.htm
It says this:

tsd:compress
The compression mode used for the document stored in a doctype may
be changed via update-define. This will not change the compression
of documents already stored in Tamino.

This would lead me to believe that you need to re-load your documents to get them compressed.

Greetings,
Trevor.
