Two node cluster, currently using IPAT by virtual IP.
Is it possible to reconfigure it to use IPAT by replacement?
Currently the boot native adapter address is on the same subnet as the service address.
We just want to switch it back to replacement mode.
We are having much difficulty with VPN tunnels and IP security caused by service traffic running outbound on the base adapter IP address, and not the service IP address.

I cannot seem to find anyplace in SMIT to change that takeover setting.
Do I have to rebuild the entire cluster configuration to change this?

...which is an invalid network design

Though I expect you have long figured this out by now, I figure I would reply anyway. There is an option on the "ether" network option that is enabled by default for IPAT via Aliasing. Just set it to "No" (as shown below) and then resync. I don't believe this an option you can DARE. So you will prob have to stop the cluster and restart for it to take affect.

Change/Show an IP-Based Network in the HACMP Cluster

Type or select values in entry fields.
Press Enter AFTER making all desired changes.

    Entry Fields
    • Network Name net_ether_01
    New Network Name []
IP Address Offset for Heartbeating over IP Aliases []
    • Network attribute public
