    Hi everyone,

I have a Problem with Planning Analytics security.

We migrated an old Express Installation to the new versions (actually it's Planning Analytics 2.0.6 and Cognos 11.1.4)

Now I'm at the point of integrating security of both components. I followed the tutorials like this:
    https://community.ibm.com/community/user/businessanalytics/blogs/nadine-mnch/2017/05/30/cognos-analytics-and-planning-analytics-integration-walkthrough-part-1
and the various other instructions posted in the user guide, on YouTube etc.

Architect is running with the account of the Cognos Admin user in Windows (which is the only Domain account I can use)

When I want to add my Cognos Admin in Architect, it should prompt me for a Login to the Domain Name space in Cognos, but it doesn't.
Instead of the Cognos user selection Dialog, the small add local user Dialog appears, so I can't set up the Connection to CAM security.

    What is wrong?

Both, Cognos and Planning Analytics Configurations have a Connection to the same AD Domain.
Both are installed on the same Server.

I tried the CAM URI Settings with full qualified Domain names, just Server Name, localhost, neither works.
I tried Integrated security mode 1 and 2, neither works.

I really Need some help on this…

Thanks a lot & Best Regards
    Stefan

You'll need update the tm1p.ini file for architect. There is a setting for allowimportofcamclients.

    Ryan,
thanks a lot, that was my problem.
I had already done that setting when I installed TM1, but I had to switch users in between, so a new tm1p was created.

    Best Regards
    Stefan

    Hi Stefan,

IBM Support should be able to assist if you can open a support ticket.  Reading your questions I'm not 100% clear if you cannot log into Architect using your CAM account (because Architect is showing the native TM1 authentication prompt) or if you can log into Architect using your CAM account, but cannot add CAM users and groups in the user/group security management UI (because it prompts you to add native users and groups).

A few basic troubleshooting thoughts in addition to what Ryan already mentioned....

    1 - Please see: https://www.ibm.com/support/pages/configure-tm1-cam-authentication-using-cognos-analytics-110-sso

2 - Can you share your tm1s.cfg file, or at least the IntegratedSecurityMode, ClientCAMURI and ServerCAMURI parameters from your tm1s.cfg?

3 - Does your Cognos Analytics gateway login work correctly in a browser?  Remove TM1/PA from the picture, does everything else still work?

4 - Can you reach the Cognos Analytics gateway in a web browser from the system running Architect?

5 - Can you reach the Cognos Analytics dispatcher URL in a web browser from the system running TM1 Server?
