  • 1.  Bulk "remove control"

    Posted 07/29/21 02:17 PM

I am in the middle of cleaning up a customer's install and it is a hot mess.  Is there a way to perform a bulk "remove Control" rather than 1 device at a time?

    Thanks,

    Hi Mitch
Unfortunately this option is not available and was deemed a security risk.
It needes to be done one by one. Either users can remove the control if this is facilitated, or the admin can send commands from devices one-by-one.

Pls. give some more information about the case, "remove Control" alone does not tell much.

I have the answer, Ari, but remove control facilitates removing the enrollment of a specific device in Maas360 without conducting a full wipe of the device.  IF you open the dashboard and look at a specific enrolled device, click "more" on the left and you will see the "Remove Control" command. Eamonn has confirmed this can only be accomplished, 1 device at a time.

    Thanks,

Maybe there's a way to do it programmatically - assuming there's a REST APIs for it?  Maybe write a quick python script?

Note: I have zero experience with MaaS360, but thought I'd offer a potential workaround if the feature was removed from the UI.
