The error 'class com.spss.vis.exception.VisualizationInternalException java.lang.NullPointerException' always occurs when i want to move the diagram labels within the diagram editor. Maybe the bug is fixed through the Fix Pack 001. But i couldn't install it. Thereby the error occurs: 'Could not find any previously installed compliant products on the machine for installing this product.

Is this becaus im using the student version?

More details are needed in order to understand this problem. What chart type? What code are you running to create the chart? What platform and Statistics version are you using? How are you trying to move the labels?

Dear Jon, thank you for your fast response. I'm not using a code. I press 'Diagram' -->'New Diagram' 'Stacked Columm Chart'. Then i fill in all the variables, etc. Afterwards i open the Diagram Editor with double click on the chart. Then press 'Showing Data Labelling'. After that, i want to move the appeared labels with my mouse by click& hold. This is the moment the error appears. The error also appears when i switch the 'Labelling Position' from 'Automatic' to 'Manual' or 'Adjust' within the 'Data Labelling Properties Window'. I am using the SPSS Statistics Version 26.0.0.0 (Student Version). I am from Austria, so i'm using the german language version. Therfore the naming can be a little different. Secondly, i don't know much about computers.. Thank you for helping me.

I guessed that this might be a translated version as the terms don't match the English version. That might be an issue. You can, by the way, change the user interface and output languages using Edit > Options > Language.

I could not get this to happen on my Windows system. Can you send me an output file that has a chart where it misbehaves (jkpeckSupport Member)?

As for the fixpack, which I have installed, I suspect that you downloaded the wrong version. Usually you see the Server version listed first in the list of possibilities, but you want the client/desktop fixpack and, if on Windows, you need to get the right bitness (32 or 64) to match your installation.
