    Bishal,

What is the error in the log?

Have you execute the DDBB creation script?

For the administrator tab review this task, is for v4.0 but is the same for previus versions

      Configuring an administrator for Blogs

      hope this helps.

    Bishal,

Follow the next instructions to create using scripts:

     Creating databases with SQL scripts
Create IBM Connections databases using the SQL scripts that are provided on the installation media.

      Different ways to create DDBB

    Creating databases
Create databases for the applications that you plan to install. You can use the database wizard or run the SQL scripts that are provided with IBM Connections.

and finally don't forget the population of DDBB

      Populating the Profiles database
Populate the Profiles database with data from the LDAP directory.

      Hope this helps.

    Regards

    Morning Gabriel,

    I am absolutely confused now.

     Creating databases with SQL scripts
Create IBM Connections databases using the SQL scripts that are provided on the installation media.

Before I installed Lotus Connections, I manually created Activities, Blogs,...database in SQL (is it the same as above as described in the documentation). I checked the zip files in the installation folder it contains the same file names as that I have got it in my sub_directory for each application. Does this mean that it has created SQL scripts properly.

    Creating databases
Create databases for the applications that you plan to install. You can use the database wizard or run the SQL scripts that are provided withIBM Connections.
Isn't this step in whilst installing the Lotus Connections. I remember creating databases whilst installing. Or is it a separate process?

      Populating the Profiles database
Populate the Profiles database with data from the LDAP directory.
Do I have to configure Tivoli Directory Integrator?

    Bishal,

I have put the links because you ask about "How do I execute DDBB creation script?" i don't know if you have done the steps

The first link if for create databases, the second to see different ways to do (manually, using wizard,...) the last link because is in the the steps to configure databases.

If you have created the databases, then you need to check why is not connecting to databases (Message error suggest the problem).

Have you review the logs after the error?

    regards

    Hi Gabriel,

Thanks for your invaluable input as always.

I have got a question for you:

After the database was created i have got an error with the username and password, permissions, do I need to do re create the database or can this be done later when installing IBM Connections and mentioning the correct username and password then. As I am trying to use just 1 username and 1 password for all the applications.

    Bishal,

In my opinion you can put the correct username and password when you are installing IBM Connections.

If there is some problem with database connections, in log must to appear some sql exception.
