[Beginner Level] Error while opening console

Hi all,

I am a new Websphere App Server user and trying to open administration console for the first time. I have installed Process Server App Server ND version 6.2 on AIX version 6.0. While I try to hit the URL

http://IP:9060/admin

I get the following error on Firefox

SRVE0255E: A WebGroup/Virtual Host to handle 172.16.23.90:9060 has not been defined

I have checked the port in and it is correct so not sure how to define virtual hosts

Any help will be appreciated.

Check your virtualhost defintion from adminconsole and also go through pluginconfig,virtualhost and serverindex files from application server side.

check ur ip address that u mention. and 9060 must be defined in virtual host.

first check your ip address , then check admin console port , may be you are not using default port. check server.xml file

not accessing the Adm Console

Hi

I m new to this forum. i have got the same problem of accessing the admin console after installing WAS 6.1 on Ubuntu 9. i tried to check the virtual host file as well as server.xml file ( they are lot of server.xml file created here)

i can run Dmgr nicely. but when i try to open console by http:/:9060/ibm/console i get this message /"SRVE0255E: A WebGroup/Virtual Host to handle localhost:9060 has not been defined/"

add the virtual host(9060) on your virtualhost.xml file

admin_host

Check the port value assigned to admin_host in the path Environment -> Virtual Hosts.It must be set to 9060.If not then try running it on port 9043

After installing the product have you run the First Steps Menu and then Run Installation verification?

Also from the IBM Websphere GUI have you tried opening the Admin Console? This may work if you have installed the Admin console on another port.
