Hi guys,
I'm currently playing with the final version of 6.1. And after installing openSSH from the expansion CD, I noticed that logins thru the SSH are not getting updated in the /var/adm/wtmp file. The version that comes from IBM is OpenSSH_4.5p1, OpenSSL 0.9.8d 28 Sep 2006. A dirty work around is adding "UseLogin yes" in the sshd_config file, but that is nasty since if you log in 2 times i.e. and you close one of the sessions in the last one you can still see with "w" 2 users:
bash-3.00# w
01:06PM up 23 mins, 2 users, load average: 0.00, 0.01, 0.02
User tty login@ idle JCPU PCPU what
root pts/0 12:56PM 0 0 0 w
root pts/1 12:45PM 21 0 0 -
I suppose they didn't use proper compile time options for the wtmp?! Anyway that's just a notice to the guys @ IBM and for those who are going to play with 6.1 soon.
