  • 1.  Backup Restoration of Guardium Collectors, CM

    Hi,

    I want to do test backup files of Guardium to restore it to the different Guardium Console.
    Below are my doubts:

    1. How can we import to other collector or CM?
    2. Do we need same version of Guardium to restore?
    3. If at all restoration happens, what are the configurations restoration we can see?

    1. you cannot restore collector setting on aggregator appliance and vice vers - I didn't get this answer
    3. You question is not clear for me -  My questions is if we restore Central Manager configurations to different one, Does it gets the customized dashboards that we create in regular CM? and do we need to enter the same shared secret key before we restore it to different CM?
    If we are restoring configuration and data backup for collector and it is managing by CM, So after restoration happens, Restored Collector will try to communicate with CM right without registering it?

    Hi Phanendra,

    1. You will need to add catalog record to your new appliance (CM, Agg or collector)

    2. You do not need, Guardium new version support old version.
    3. System backups store all the necessary data and configuration values to restore a server in case a Guardium Server becomes unusable
