  • 1.  Backspace deleting all text in a cell

    Hi.

    Newest SPSS version 29 has a different functionality for backspace than in the previous version. Now, if you click once in the cell, start writing a text and then click backspace, it will delete the entire text in that cell. If you click twice in the cell, you have full control over backspace, which now deletes one letter/digit at a time in your string. Or you can click in the field under the options bar. However, none of these two options are practical when moving in the document using a keyboard. Is this now a new default? And can it be controlled in Settings, to revert to version 28's functionality.

    Has this problem been solved yet? It's not real practical to double-click within a cell if a lot of your data are actually 'text-based'; you're bound to make errors periodically.

    According to the Known Issue cited above, this problem was resolved for IBM SPSS Statistics 29.0.1.0.
    If you have not done so already, please update to the current version, IBM SPSS Statistics 29.0.1.1.
