  • 1.  Azure SQL supported ?

    Hi support,

    Can you please tell me if "Azure SQL" or "SQL managed instances " are supported for ILMT and Bigfix for a server hosted on azure cloud ?

    Hi, Azure SQL Server is not among the supported database software with ILMT.

    The only supported databases software are SQL Server and DB2, as documented here:

    Also, you cannot use Azure managed instance for ILMT and Bigfix database.

    You need to use standalone SQL Server.

    Even it is not documented in the doc link provided to support Azure SQL Server instance, has the ILMT LAB Team started testing such cloud base deployment for ILMT. Can someone check with the ILMT LAB folks.

    Dear Experts ,

    This is one of the OLD thread and I just wanted to get your expert opinion on choosing SQL Server ( Express or PaaS or IaaS). 

    I can not use SQL Express. So the next option is use SQL PaaS. 

    I am more inclined to use SQL PaaS for my ILMT Lite installation. However, there is no such evidence on IBM documentation on the usage of SQL PaaS. I just wanted to use Azure SQL PaaS. Can I get an advise if I can use the Azure SQL PaaS for my ILMT Lite installation.

    Azure SQL PaaS is not yet supported as a platform for ILMT database instance.
