Support Member ,
Thank you for bringing this to our attention. I see the behavior of the three settings:
In 27.0.1.0 the behavior is correct:
Edit -> Options -> General -> Raise Viewer Window checkbox
- Checked (default) raises a viewer when output is created.
- Unchecked leaves the current window active (Data or Syntax).
Edit -> Options -> General -> Scroll to new output
- Checked (default) scrolls to the most recently created output when you go to the Output window.
- Unchecked leaves the Viewer alone and you must scroll on your own.
Edit -> Options -> Viewer -> Display commands in the log
- Checked (default) echoes syntax commands to the log object (Same as SET PRINTBACK=LISTING)
- Unchecked no commands in the log object.(Same as SET PRINTBACK=NONE)
In 28.0.1.0, displaying commands in the log overrides the 'raise viewer window' setting
If 'Edit -> Options -> Viewer -> Display commands in the log' is checked,
- the Viewer is always raised.
- scroll to new output behaves as expected.
We now have an issue filed with IBM SPSS Statistics Development to have this behavior resolved in a future release. Thank you again for informing us!
