I'm using DOORS Next, 7.1.0 SR1. 

In this version, how to make an automated linking? 

I mean, let's imagine I have 100 artifacts in one module, 100 in the other module. The excel sheet or some table is my address book. 

How to proceed, please?

Link by attribute is what you want to use.

Have a read through the following resources:

You'll need to do some formatting of your excel spreadsheet data and ensure your source and target artifact id's are in the spreadsheet.

you are right, linking by attribute is the way, nevertheless the posted articles describing only a way of how to link the attributes, if the information is already in DOORS Next - which is the easier part. 

I'm more interested in your last sentence and "some formatting", because that's the bottleneck. 

I see the articles like:

Do we have some step-by-step GUI what and how to export, how to adapt formatting if you have 100 requirements or more, so to do it one-by-one is definitely not a way and than, where and how to import it - simply in one page, because this is only one process of "link by attribute". 

To browsing many articles and searching for a puzzles is also not a way, because it's very sensitive to "I don't know, that I don't know".

Hi Lukas

My recommendation would be a follows:

• You'll need a bank text type attribute for your requirement artifacts. If you don't have one add one into your type system and assign it to the requirement artifact. You could call it LBA for example.
• go to your source module in doors, set a filter to only show your requirement artifacts and only display the artifact ID and the blank text artifact type.
• save the view and export it to csv. Now you have a spreadsheet which can be used for Link by attribute, but you'll need to put in the target ID's for the links you need to create into the LBA column.
• merge your two spreadsheets together in one workbook (as seperate sheets) and use a vlookup to pull in the target ID's from you mapping sheet into the newly created sheet in the LBA column. Note, if you want to be making module context links you'll need to prefix the target ID with the module ID in the format of "moduleID.targetArtifactID"
• now you can use that sheet for the link by attribute feature.
