In the past, when attaching a newly received server to the Brocade environment, using the Brocade provided tools, the HBA shows up as a UPort with no assigned WWN. Thru doing the following, I was able to get the HBA to register as an FPort with a WWN:
    1) rmdev the fc and it's children
    2) load the EMC ODM drivers
    3) run cfgmgr

    I'm not sure what above facilitated the card to register as an FPort. Can anyone clarify this for me?

    I can see the status using the switchshow command. How can I force it the HBA to log in to the switch as an FPort? It logs in as a UPport.
