  • 1.  Assistance Required: DB Configurator Error - ORA-01116 (webMethods 10.15 + Oracle 21c XE)

    Dear All,

    I am encountering an issue while attempting to run the DB Configurator for webMethods.

    Environment Details:

    • Operating System: Windows 10 (64-bit)

    • webMethods Version: 10.15 (Trial)

    • Database: Oracle Database 21c Express Edition for Windows (64-bit)

    • PDB Used: XEPDB1

    • Database User: Dedicated user created for webMethods

    Error Message:
    java.sql.SQLException: [SoftwareAG][Oracle JDBC Driver][Oracle]ORA-01116: error in opening database file 13
    ORA-01110: data file 13: 'C:\SOFTWAREAG\COMMON\DB\BIN\WEBMUSERTBSPACE\WEBMDATA01.DBF'
    ORA-27041: unable to open file
    OSD-04002: unable to open file
    O/S-Error: (OS 2) The system cannot find the file specified.

    Hi Tulasi,

    Tablespace directory should be from the Oracle installation path, not from webmethods installtion directory.

    Ex:  C:\oraclexe\app\oracle\oradata\XE

    Apart from the path topic that was already mentioned, I would recommend to always first try the login using a generic database tool like e.g. DB Visualizer. That will allows you to be separate general issues from webMethods-specific ones. Of course this applies to all database types.
