    Posted Mon February 05, 2024 10:47 AM

    Hi community:

I would like to know if I can assing specific resources to Datapower domains. I mean, memory-cpu-etc instead have all these resourses shared for all domains.

I am trying to protect a domain if another have any problem for CPU o memory consuption

    Regards

I've never seen CPU sliced up that way, but you can definitely monitor domain memory and services memory as needed.   Just use the Domain Memory Status or Services Memory Status.

    Hi David,

Hardware resources are shared across all applications domain in DataPower appliances. There is no way (that I am aware of) to assign any quota for any hardware resource to any application domain.

There is an optional module for the DataPower Gateway called the Tenant Isolation Module.

This allows DataPower to be partitioned and to assign a certain number of CPU's and memory to both the landlord (base default instance) and the Tenant (which there can be up to 2 different tenants on a single DataPower Gateway).  Not only does this allow the physical resources to be assigned, it also allows the tenants to run the same or different firmware than the landlord.  More information about this can be found in the DataPower Knowledge  Center, Creating a tenant and installing its firmware - IBM Documentation

LOL.  You could always get more appliances.  LOL even harder.

Isn't that exactly what tenants are made for?

If he's on physicals, that might work.   Have the virtual platforms been extended to support tenants?
