Please provide more information on which application is used.
Currently there are 2 client applications with similar names:

- Aspera for Desktop (AfD)
- Aspera Desktop Client (ADC)
Maybe share a few more details - a screenshot of the data volume you're referring to, your Windows version, etc.
Keep in mind that Windows Task Manager reports Layer 2 (Ethernet-level) network volumes - that is, bytes received directly from the network adapter. These counts include IP, TCP/UDP, and other protocol headers, not just the actual payload.
In contrast, Aspera typically reports the payload data written to disk, after all protocol handling, retransmissions, and so on.
So, a couple of screenshots - one from the client application and one from Task Manager - would really help clarify what's being measured and make it easier to compare.

Subject: Aspera desktop client speed display is inaccurate
1 Aspera desktop client speed display is inaccurate. different from that shown in the task manager.
2 If the transmission continues after the interruption, both the total data volume and the transmitted data volume show incorrect values. This makes it impossible for us to determine how much has been transmitted and how much is still remaining.
