  • 1.  Application Designer - Menu Icons

    Posted Thu July 19, 2018 11:12 AM
We are in the process of configuring the UI and am wondering is anyone knows where, or has a file showing:
    • Icons
    • description of the icon
    • menu icon
    • any other configuration details about these icons
It would seem there should be a file somewhere in the IBM help system, that this information would exist.

    Of course! it's customizable
Images appear in many places throughout the user interface as visual markers that identify an
application you can open or action you can perform. Image icons in the toolbar represent common
functions like Save, Cut, Copy, and Paste. The settings e Images Properties wind dit the height,
width, and alignment for a specified image file.
The image icons you see in the user interface reside in the following directory:
    <root>\applications\maximo\maximouiweb\webmodule\webclient\images
You can access the graphic files in the images directory using the Image control in
    the Application Designer.

We at Connet Global deliver several courses on how program or customize MAXIMO UI

    Hope this help

I'll add Paolo said and that you can create custom button/icons for Maximo. If you create a button, make sure it matches the same size (22px x 17px) and is in the GIF format. Any custom icons should be placed in the x:\IBM\SMP\maximo\applications\maximo\maximouiweb\webmodule\webclient\images folder.

Once the custom icons are in the folder, you'll need to rebuild/redeploy the Maximo EAR files for Maximo to pick up the new images. However, if you do this after developing all your custom images then they'll all be available.

So now when you're in app designer, all you have to do is fill in the image name on the button or shortcut.

    Thank you Paolo and Jason,

I am fully aware of the ability to customize and create new images, but that's not what I want to do.  I want to re-use some of the existing icons in applications they currently do not exist.  I don't have access to server files, which is why I was hoping for a file I could copy from somewhere to read.

well, you could search the existing presentation and system xmls for things like 'image=' and 'mxevent_icon=' using something like npp (that would allow one to search multiple files....

Thanks, yes it's the old hunt and peck method.  A file with a name, indicating what the icon is would be nice.  Am I just missing something or does it not exist?  Oh well, thanks to all for the feedback.
