BIM and Maximo: Creating a single point of truth across the Design - Build - Manage Lifecycle
DBM Vircon is a premier construction modelling, detailing and digital engineering company. As Director of Digital Engineering, Alastair Brook is focussed on the strategic direction, definition and implementation of major client projects, including Destination Brisbane Consortium's Queens Wharf and the Cross River Rail. In this session, Alastair will introduce Digital Engineering and outline why it is so much more than creating 3D models. Based on experience with the Queens Wharf project, he will discuss how bringing BIM and Maximo together bridges the asset data gap between design and operate and maintain lifecycle stages. Together, Clarita Solutions and DBM Vircon have been co-developing a reference implementation to demonstrate how BIM can be used within Maximo to improve the: Creation of locations and attributes (removing the requirement for multiple spreadsheets) Method for knowing which asset or location a service request or work order applies to Visualisation of components that are underground or covered An improved viewing tool to do more with your model in Maximo |

Best Practice in KPIs & Start Center Design with Coca-cola Amatil
This session will cover: How to define KPIs properly, and find use cases for them. KPIs beyond to measuring your Asset Management but also let KPIs help you monitor other areas such as the usage of Maximo for completeness of data. Some samples and ideas how you could better use KPIs in your organization.
Start Centers. Everybody uses them, but often this is not configured to the 'max'. We will have again some samples and best practices that have been built up over the years, as well as suggestions on how you can use your Start Center as a useful entry point, and not just a quick link to your Favourite applications. |

Honda Manufacturing (UK): A step change in asset management maturity in six months
Honda of the UK Manufacturing (HUM) were using a combination of spreadsheets and paper-based systems to manage all equipment maintenance processes. This lack of digitization and integration was causing inefficiencies and the decision was made to achieve a step change in asset management for HUM's Plant in Swindon.
Honda worked closely with BPD Zenith to implement IBM Maximo EAM (Maximo 7.6.1). The implementation was based on BPD Zenith's Maximo for Manufacturing Industry Accelerator Template with the focus on Works and Inventory Management to suit their specific industry requirements.
Implementation of mobile working across the plant with associated efficiency and data quality improvement
BPD Zenith is already working with HUM on future enhancements exploring the potential of predictive maintenance, Asset Health monitoring, AI and the capabilities and benefits mobile technology can offer. · Solution is Fully Hosted and includes IBM Anywhere · Now running an IBM Assist pilot |

Cloud Consideration for your Asset Management System
Many organisations struggle to realise the benefits of advances in technology because they are often having to deal with legacy Asset or Works management systems. Limited resources and heavily customisation functionality often inhibit the ability to update to the latest version off a product. This in turn has an impact on the organisations to have system support as it matures in Asset Management.
Cloud and SaaS type offerings help provide a solution, ensuring regular product updates are made available in your system, keeping up the latest versions and relieving your teams from arduous IT tasks. Often with a more robust security layer and the ability to scale quickly and when required. Costs are often more efficiently managed through business models that are based closer to a consumption model.
Amongst many benefits, having the system regularly updated means access to the latest functionality often incorporating emerging technologies like AI and blockchain whilst often advancing base functionality. The new world is also making integrating to other systems like finance, SCADA and mapping services relatively easier with standard plug-ins or having API's available.
This new delivery approach also has the added advantage of providing the organisation a chance to prove out a product before you are fully invested.
With only 20% of global systems currently managed accordingly means there is significant opportunity to take |

Actionable Asset Data
We all know that any asset management system is only as good its data. But the reality is that asset data can be both a blessing and a curse. With the growing volume of IoT feeds from owned and 3rd party service providers, there's now a deluge of asset data available … and research suggests that up to 99% of it remains unused. It's the extent to which we can break free from powerful but isolated data silos to organise, apply and share information across business processes that will take asset management to the next level.
Rather than collecting data in ever increasing quantities that no one knows what to do with, Clarita will explore the ways in which copious amounts of data can be turned into actionable, productive asset management insight. We'll present three Maximo customer experiences with: SCADA Telematics 3rd party equipment sensors |

Asset Health and the Journey to Condition-based Maintenance using MAHI
Many organisations that follow the regular maintenance schedules on their assets have found that it doesn't quite cut the mustard – some assets still go South before the planned maintenance. That's why more are looking at condition-based maintenance – using any and all information on assets to get an early indicator that preventative maintenance – or even early asset replacement – might be needed. We'd like to talk about getting insights on your asset health, and present an outline journey for you to embed condition-based maintenance. |
