    Hi Folks,

    I'm pleased to be able to share with you both the full video recording video and slides .pdf file from the recent ANZ Virtual Maximo User Group - Maximo Roadmap session. The files are in the Community Library tab.

    Let me know if you want further information about any of the topics presented during the ANZ Virtual Maximo User Group sessions.

    The content and attendance for this session was great, and so were the questions asked throughout the presentation.  These have been individually answered now and the responses are included down below.

    Q: What's the medium/long term strategy for Work Centers in comparison with Anywhere (as some functions overlap)? Any firm plan for making Work Centers available offline? :)

    Answer:  This was covered as a key focus area in the Maximo roadmap.  Step 1 was to deliver a simplified Anywhere/mobile architecture that will be the foundation for adding support for offline work centers.   This update was delivered as Anywhere 7.6.4 in February 2020.   Step 2 is to begin to deliver offline work centers that will run as mobile applications.   This work is underway, with the initial focus on delivering the Inspection work center and a new Technician application, targeted for availability in Q4 2020/Q1 2021.________________________________________________________________

    Q: Question regarding the APAR. Do we get the list of APARs that is planned to release as part of 7.6.1.2?

    Answer: Yes, with 7.6.1.2 all the APARS are documented and the document made available with the Feature Pack.

    Q: Regarding the Maximo Scheduler+Optimiser package, does it require us to upgrade core Maximo to 7.6.1.2 or would this be available as a separate upgrade to Scheduler?

    Answer: Optimization requires upgrade to Scheduler 768 which is on core Maximo 7612

    Q: When will be Maximo 8.0 release?

    Answer: 1st release will be in June 26 2020 BUT will only include Maximo Monitor. Maximo EAM is scheduled for inclusion in Dec 2020.

    Q: Is there still going to be a Maximo 7 plus a Maximo 8, or is there only being offered Maximo 8?

    Answer: There will still be 7.6.1 and MAS 8

    Q: Will there be interaction with the map in Anywhere?  Lassoing of sites to create a work order from the map as an example.

    Answer:  Yes, we have those as part of the requirements. Basic maps for initial Technician offline app, advanced features like geo fencing to follow

    Q: Are existing core licenses eligible for Maximo 8?  all components?

    Answer:  The licensing model for the Maximo Application Suite (8.x) is changing, as part of this release the licensing is being simplified, making it easier to use all components, but also being entitled to use expanded capabilities.

    Q: What if i only have scheduler non plus licenses? Will i be able to use all scheduler components when they are merged into 1 part number?

    Answer: Scheduler clients will have access to Plus capabilities too from next release (768)

    Q: Will Maximo 8 eventually replace Maximo 7.x?

    Answer: Maximo Application Suite (8.x), is just being launched, with multiple updates planned through this year and yes, it will become the foundation for future product updates.   Over the product lifecycle of Maximo, there have always been the introduction of new releases (3.x 4.x, 5.x, 6.x, 7.x), which have introduced new more modern technologies as well as expanded and enhanced features.  That is true with Maximo Application Suite (8.x).    With that said, Maximo 7.6.1.x will continue to be an active and supported product out into the foreseeable future.

    Q: Will Maximo Maps support Geonet as well as ESRI?

    Answer: There are no current plans to support Geonet.  With said, you can use other 'public' (Google, BING), maps with Maximo, through the Map Manager application.

    Q: When will visual configuration tool will be available for work center UI ?

    Answer: This was discussed as part of the roadmap presentation.  Development is underway creating an enhanced work center framework/platform that will include the addition of a visual configuration tool.  This will enable you to modify work centers delivered with Maximo, but eventually also support the development of custom work centers.   Configuration will be delivered over multiple releases, initially with the release planned for the end of this year.

    Q: Will Maximo still be offered as a stand alone offering moving forwards, even after it's integrated into MAS at the end of the year?

    Answer: Maximo 7.6.1.x will continue to be an active and supported release into the foreseeable future.  Existing customers will be able to upgrade to 7.6.1.x (if not currently there yet), purchase additional licenses and/or  additional add-on capabilities.

    Q: Can BIM model link directly to the forge viewer bucket APP instead of loading the model file in Maximo ?

    Answer:  The model is being loaded in the forge platform since forge is the cloud viewer, the model gets stored on the Autodesk's cloud and processes in their cloud, as well and pushed out to Maximo.

    Q: It has been a number of years since we looked at the Maximo Scheduling Tool. Does scheduling now allow for a complete view of all planned/scheduled work across organisations. Also, have any enhancements been made around shared labour/crew/work group resources between sites and/or organisations?

    Answer: We don't bring in work against multiple orgs. Calendars are at individual org level. Can share labor in multiple sites but not orgs.

    Q: What are other BIM viewers supported besides Forge Viewer?

    Answer:   There are a few viewers out there, but many uses the Forge API (Microdesk, VueOps-UCSF), then we have Sitedesk(offline viewer), YouBim and Gemba (a Maximo business partner) wrote their own

    Q: Does the new drill down support more than one PM to a record?

    Answer:  Yes, you can drill down to see multiple PM's.

    Q: Will/can the map view configurations be stored on a by user basis or only security group level?

    Answer:  Not currently, but this is a good enhancement request. Will forward it on to the development team.

    Q: Question about map was about individuals configuring their personal preference view of layers, and the configuration being persistent from session to session.

    Answer:  Not currently, but this is a good enhancement request. Will forward it on to the development team.

    Q: Is Graphical Resource view a graphical way to Modify Person availability? 

    Answer: Yes

    Q: Anything planned for a Graphical application to modify Asset/Locations Maintenance and Operational Schedules?

    Answer: Not currently in consideration for future. Please file a new RFE elaborating your use-case.

    Q: Is there details regarding licensing costs for Maximo 8?

    Answer: The licensing model for Maximo Application Suite (8.x) is changing and will be simplified compared to the current model.  More details to come over the next few months as Maximo EAM becomes available in the MAS by the end of the year.
