  • 1.  Android Enterprise - Removing Activesync account

    Posted Wed January 08, 2020 09:59 AM
    Hi,
do you have any advice on how to remove an Activesync (Exchange) account configured through MaaS360 on an Android Enterprise (PO/DO) device?

I have a couple of Samsung devices where I've configured ActiveSync in the Android Enterprise section of the Android Policy.

    1. If I disable the ActiveSync config in the policy, nothing happens to the already configured account.
    2. If I remove the Gmail app from the whitelist in Application Compliance section in the Policy, nothing happens to the already configured account.
    3. If I add the Gmail app the the list of disabled apps in the Application Compliance section in the Policy, nothing happens to the already configured account.
    4. If I run a Selective Wipe on the device, nothing happens to the already configured account.

    Any suggestions/comments?

Note! For a PO device, Remove Work Profile will (obviously) remove the account (along with everything else in the Work Profile). For a DO device, it seems the only option is to factory reset the device.

    Hi Kjetil,

Can you provide me with one point of clarification - does the account remain on the device but the email stops syncing/becomes inaccessible, or does the account remain and the email continues to work as normal?
