  • 1.  Android devices requires Lock Code to answer incoming calls

    Posted Wed August 26, 2020 07:05 AM
    Hi,
has anyone experienced that users have to unlock their Android devices in order to receive/answer incoming calls?

We have several users experiencing this issue. Can't find anything in their policies that could explain this.

    Any solution to this problem?

    Hi Kjetil,

Are there any restrictions on lock screen notifications or keyguard in the policy?

    Hi Matt,
No, not that I can see.

I'm trying to get some more information from the users.

I just wanted to check if anyone has experienced this type of issue.

(It could be vendor, model or OS-version related, or even the user themselves causing this issue, hence not necessarily caused by MaaS360).

Yes, we've had that for some users, sometimes made worse by the screen just staying black (possibly because of notification on lock screen restrictions).

The work arounds (not really solutions) found in this case were to either configure fingerprint or facial recognition unlocking, so it unlocked quickly enough, or to hit the power button once whilst the handset is ringing. This then brings up a "return to call" option which allows an answer from the lock screen.

    Samsung A20e and J4+ handsets.

I'm currently trying to replace that policy with another one to solve a bunch of other COSU-related problems, although have hit a show-stopper in another part of the policy.
