  • 1.  Alerting in Application Perspective

    Posted Fri July 25, 2025 08:13 PM

    Hi All,

    Good morning.

I'm new user/admin of Instana and I'm tasked to configure the application perspective for a mission critical app. I have configure it and it is now monitoring. My ask is - how do I configure the application perspective to alert based on thresholds? Currently, the app perspective is reporting a 300K latency, but the health indicator is green. I would to configure this to alert if it reaches 5000ms.

    Thanks,

    #Alerting

    Hi Bobbie,

In the Application Perspective go to the Smart Alerts tab to create a smart alert for slow calls, and switch to advanced mode (in the upper right).

That's an interesting discussion about Instana! It's great to see how monitoring tools are evolving to offer deeper insights into system performance. For anyone researching local judicial information or looking into legal case schedules, you can explore the Travis court schedule for more detailed updates and related insights. This helps in understanding how organized data systems can improve accessibility and efficiency overall.

That's a great question - it sounds like you've already set up the basics perfectly. To configure alerts based on latency thresholds, you'll need to define custom metrics and associate them with your application perspective. It might also help to check out tools that simplify monitoring and reporting for similar systems. For instance, San Joaquin case lookup offers structured access to data and tracking tools, which can be a useful model for building smarter alert configurations.
