Does any know if it is possible to set up an alert for the scheduler to be alerted if/when a scheduled job fails?

We have setup reports on audit store to look for jobs with failure status.
The report is scheduled to run every 30 minutes.
An event is created to see if the count > 1 for the report and then email our on call or page the admin.

    Hi Steve,

This would be something great to submit as an RFE! When we envision new capabilities and enhancements for Cognos, our direction is hugely influenced by the Request For Enhancements (RFE) our users submit. The Cognos Analytics 11.1 release is a great example where we delivered more than 75 RFEs.

Please let us know if you'd like to see this in the product by voting for RFE(s) if it already exists or by submitting a new one on https://www.ibm.com/developerworks/rfe. In the meantime, Sudheen's workaround is a pretty smart way to achieve the same result. Here is another possible way.

There is an existing RFE for a similar enhancement: http://www.ibm.com/developerworks/rfe/execute?use_case=viewRfe&CR_ID=100446

You should vote for it if you haven't already.  Hopefully this enhancement is seriously considered for a future release.  It seems to be a pain point for many customers.
