    I'm trying to implement a process monitoring based on SNMP. I read the current process table from my AIX (AIX 5.3) servers with an snmpwalk request on object id 1.3.6.1.4.1.2.6.191.7. This works for most servers. But on a few servers, the aixmibd dies after an request to that object id. Do you have any idea how to solve this?

    I'am running the snmpwalk from a Linux box:

    \#snmpwalk is134l05 1.3.6.1.4.1.2.6.191.7
    SNMPv2-SMI::enterprises.2.6.191.7.1.0 = Counter32: 696
    Error in packet.
    Reason: (genError) A general failure occured
    Failed object: SNMPv2-SMI::enterprises.2.6.191.7.1.0
    Thanks in advance,

    Benny

    Maybe there's some limit on the amount of data SNMP can return (I'm no expert on SNMP, so no idea what the limits are) and process tables can be pretty big.
